UNIT- I
Dalits, Harijans, Sudra, Anaryas, Dasya, Chandalas, Untouchables, Panchamas etc words meaning and explanation – The Historical Background of Dalit Literature. Ideology of Dalit Literature: Vedas – Charvakam – Jainam – Bouddham – Ambedkarism – Marxism – and impact of other theories.
UNIT- II
Principles of Dalit Literature – Untouchablity – Religious Approach – Aesthetic Approach – Concepts of Satyam, Sivam, Sundaram – Different opinions about concepts of Karma, Rebirth etc- Dalit Language – Dalit Culture. Dalit Literary Genres, Metrical Poetry- Songs- Story – Drama – Free Verse Poetry- Dalit Literary Criticism- Caste Identity Movements- Sub-Cast Consciousness.
